Register Your Azawakh
Our Registry: The Basics
One of the primary purposes of The Azawakh Club is to maintain a comprehensive Registry.
The Registry currently contains over 250 entries. Because The Azawakh Club Registry is recognized as an approved registry by the AKC, our Registration/Four Generation Ancestry Certificates may be used to cross-register Azawakh with the AKC, using the standard Foreign Stock Service Application.
Certificates issued by The Azawakh Club may also be used to cross-register with the FCI through the Federación Canófila de Puerto Rico (FCPR) using their Foreign Registration Application process.
Who is Eligible to Register Azawakh with our Registry?
All Regular and Institutional Members in good standing may register their Azawakh with our Registry.
Which Azawakh are Eligible for Registration?
The dogs of primary interest to The Azawakh Club, as defined in our By-Laws, are those Azawakh existing both inside and outside west Africa that can reasonably be assumed to descend entirely from Sahelian Azawakh; specimens bred in the historic traditions of dogbreeding tribes of the Sahel and southern Sahara without admixture from sources unacceptable to The Azawakh Club.
Do I receive documentation of having registered my Azawakh?
Once an Azawakh has been entered into our Registry and assigned a number, a combined Registration/Four Generation Ancestry Certificate can be issued.
The process for entering Azawakh into The Azawakh Club Stud Book and obtaining a Registration/Four Generation Ancestry Certificate is quite simple. Download and print out the appropriate application, complete, and mail along with any fee(s) to: Registrar, The Azawakh Club, 207 Walnut St., Toccoa, GA, U.S.A.
